Company History

1965
The footwear factory was established on October 22, 1965 by Esteban (17) and Vicente (16) Speranza, under the name of El Dante.
From the beginning until 1978, the factory was directed by Mr. Juan Olivero, born in Italy who was an expert in the footwear field, who printed his good nature in the company spirit.

 

1969
A new member is joined to the company, Mr. Héctor Ferreri, who holds the Second Chairman´s position from 1992, keeping his distinctive values; constant effort and dedication.

1972
The company is re-established as an Incorporated type of company, under the name of EL DANTE S.A.I.C. (Inc.)

 

1976
Our company representatives starts the International Footwear Supplies Fairs and Exhibitions attendance, to spread their knowledge of the new technologies and improvements in footwear industry.

1977
Mr. Navoni, Italian designer and pattern maker, joins our company to develop new products for Export.

1978
Set up of the new Leather Outsoles factory That showed the novelty in Outsoles manufacture by an Italian machine, called Bruggi. This equipment is made of 23 machines especially designed to do the whole process from the leather treatment to the finished outsole.

1979
Time of Leather dressing shoes Export boom. The main exports are directed to USA, Canada and Europe.


1981
Men formal shoes business starts to be taken over by the sports footwear.
Our company acquires the new serial direct injection machines.
ROCKY II brand is being born.

1983
ROCKY II launches “Bota Basket” (Basket Boot) and “Cien Puntos”, that turned to be an icon of the high production level of shoes in our country; these two shoe styles lasted in the market for over 5 years, hitting the records.

New Business strategies o Our company shifts to dealing with Wholesalers and Distributors. o Our market begins to expand to Buenos Aires city and its neighbour districts. o A new and bigger Sales Force is set up, with sales representatives all around the country.

Our company enters the computing era: the first Computer machine is being brought from USA, being one of the first “Pyme” (Small and mid size company) to develop and use production and Invoicing computer programs.

The existing factory building is enlarged to 1300 square meters.

 

1984
The first advertising campaign of Rocky II brand is launched to the national scope.

 

1986
The first Business Office is set up in Buenos Aires city.

 

1991
Acquirement of The first International brand license Ocean Pacific, involving manufacture of Canvas and Leather Nautical shoes.

1992
Launch of FINDERS Brand, destined to sports footwear, showing a sophisticated styling for positioning at a higher market segment.

1993
Our company is granted the British KANGAROOS Brand

1994
Production and distribution alliances with American and Far East companies to work on technology shoes production.
The American brand EVERLAST license is acquired.

1995
Expansion to New offices and warehouse buildings.

1996
The English brand DUNLOP license is acquired for sports footwear production.

 

1997
Remarkkable Investment in Technology: Acquisition of Italian Three-color Direct Injection machine, being the only one of this type in our country, of 6000 pairs daily-production capacity.

1998
A new business office is oponed in Rosario city.
National scope advertising campaign – Guillermo Andino.

1999
Our company reaches the highest production level.

 

2003
Further Investment in Technology through the acquisition of new generation footwear machines.


2004
Dunlop launches its legendary style “Titanium”, unique in tennis category for its esthetic and technology.

Re-launch of Finders brand into the market, showing a refreshment in its styling and techniques.

 

2008
Dunlop brand grants its license for Industrial Clothing.production and distribution.
